The Counsel to Ondo State Government exonerates The Governor and Attorney General of the State from participating in the illegal selection of candidates for the stool of Oluoke of Okeigbo. At the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure on Monday, 14th July, 2025 before Justice Omoleye, Justice Shagari and Justice Obiorah, the Government’s Counsel, Deola Yusuf guaranteed the Court of Appeal that both the Governor and Attorney General of the State were not aware and can never be a part to such illegality.
In view of the Counsel’s denial, Justice Shagari warned Aare Kugbaigbe’s lead Counsel, Sola Ebiseni to caution his clients and Honorable Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs & Local Government, Alhaji Amidu Takuro as well as the Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Adebare Adeboye not to risk legal penalty, if they disobey the Court of Appeal’s order for status quo to remain until the final determination of the case in Court.

However, calls put across to the commissioner for local government & chietaincy affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro proved abortive as the network was seriously unfriendly as at the time of publishing this report.
But it was well established that neither Ondo State government nor the ministry of local government & chietaincy affairs can never be involved in any illegality and would never go against the coury order.
